Travel Overview update May 7, 2021

It’s been a long, what, about 1 year and 3 months since we could freely roam the globe. If I had to guess, you’re getting just as excited to, hopefully soon, plan some trips to go see a place you have never seen before, or perhaps revisit a favorite spot!

You always want to consider the impact of any global or localized situations when planning trips. I always check travel.state.gov before making plans for any of my clients.

Boarding Aircraft to Depart the US
To board any aircraft headed for outside the United States as of of the writing of this email/blog post, all passengers 2 years or older must have the negative Covid test within 3 calendar days of travel or documentation from a licensed health care provider showing recovery from it within the past 90 days. Many times you will also need one to re-enter, which is available in many areas.

In-Destination Testing for Pre-Homebound Travel
In-destination testing is available as of this date for travelers to Antigua & Barbuda, Aruba, The Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Cancun/Cozumel/Riviera Maya, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Curacao, Dominican Republic, French Polynesia, Hawaii, India, Jamaica, Kenya, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta/Riviera Nayarit, Rwanda, South Africa, St Lucia, St. Maarten, Turkey, Turks & Caicos, UAE/Dubai  and the 40 countries served by the Emirates Airlines Destination Directory.

Here’s a map showing you the world – green means US citizens are able to enter, yellow means partially and red means banned.

Note: map current as of 5/7/2021

On-Site Testing
There are also a list of resort brands & vacation packagers that I work with who are providing on-site testing options so you don’t have to go out and find a site, more on that in a later edition of the newsletter.

Making Your Decision
You should still check the State.Travel.Gov, your own physician, and also, these considerations are something that, as your Travel Professional, I go over with you, plus additional up to date checking to make 100% sure I would take this trip before I would ever recommend you to do the same.

I don’t know about you, but I am getting very anxious to go somewhere tropical and lovely. More to come soon about some resorts, cruise lines, etc. that are making it possible and safe to get out of the country and go see the world!
