3 Most Visited Caribbean & Mexico Destinations

I have a confession to make. Until Spring of 2018, I had never been to any All-Inclusive property!  It wasn’t until I visited Club Med Punta Cana (Dominican Republic) for my Travel Agent Mastermind Retreat that I fell in love with the concept!

I flew direct from Charlotte, and after just a few hours in the air, and about 15 minutes on this particular day to get through Customs, I was greeted by my transfer shuttle and about 10 minutes later, I had a cool, damp, essential-oil scented washcloth on my neck and a nice healthy fruit drink in hand!

Wow, what a start! So…with that said…

Destination #1 – Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic!

Where is it?  The Dominican Republic is located between Cuba & Puerto Rico, and immediately to the east from Haiti. Punta Cana is on the far east side of the island for amazing sunrises! The people are amazing here, friendly, fun, and sweet.

Why go? Punta Cana is known for its beautiful beaches!

When to go? Oh, for sure during the winter! December through March are the best months! Summertime can be a little rainier, and April through October is when the humidity is pretty heavy here.

While Punta Cana is an incredible destination, the next one I see most travelers wanting to visit is:

Destination #2 – Jamaica!

There are a few regions but most popular for sure is Montego Bay or Negril.

Where is it?  Jamaica is a beautiful island located in the Caribbean Sea, south of Cuba, and to the west from the Dominican Republic/Haiti, and to the east from the Cayman Islands. Montego Bay is on the northwest end of the beautiful island of Jamaica. While there is another major airport in Kingston, to the southeast, the Montego Bay airport is more popular for tourists. Negril is the sunset-capital of Jamaica, situated on the western coast of the island. While it’s a bit of a ride to get there, it’s wildly popular to stay in Negril, too!

Why go?  The laid back vibe, the diverse landscape, music, history, and of course, the food!

When to go?  If you’re looking for the best weather, November to Mid-December is great with lower prices. If you want to get away in winter, January through March is amazing!

There’s nothing like the spirit of the Jamaican people, unless you think about the hospitality and warmth of the people of:

Destination #3 – Mexico! Specifically, Cancun & Riviera Maya

The areas of Cancun and Riviera Maya may just have the most hotels in one major tourist spot in the Caribbean/Mexico region. There are SO many! I had a marvelous time last year visiting the area on a tour of several Karisma brand hotels. They have amazing service & food!

Where is it?  Cancun is the closest area to the Cancun airport, and the Riviera Maya region can be up to about an hour away, located in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, on the Yucatan Peninsula, on the Gulf of Mexico.

Why go? Amazing food, warm Mexican hospitality, inexpensive flights, amazing excursions, tequila, beaches & history!

When to go? You can go to Cancun from December to April and find near-perfect weather for your amazing getaway!
