This won’t likely be news to my hometown people, but in case you’re not from there, here’s a great update. I grew up in the Hershey/Harrisburg area and spent my summers going to Hersheypark, as an adult enjoying the Hershey Spa, and as a mom taking my kids to Chocolate World and Hersheypark.
Open this summer, Hershey’s Chocolate World is welcoming visitors to enjoy the sweet treats they love. This summer only, new things include Ice Cream Shoppe bars, a new Reese’s “Stuff Your Cup” experience where guests can personalize a larger-than-life Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup with peanut butter direct from the factory and mix-ins of their choice and more.
“We know that families are ready to get out of their homes and reclaim their summer, so that’s why Hershey’s Chocolate World is adding sweetness this year more than ever,” commented Todd Kohr, Hershey’s marketing manager. “From our over-the-top customizable Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup experience coming soon and Custom Creation kits to our limited-time-only milkshake flavors, guests will experience new twists on classic Hershey treats.”
Reese’s Stuff Your Cup – expected to cost $14.95: Coming for summer, guests can customize an over-the-top Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, choosing from many mix-ins, while Hershey tasteologists will fold in authentic Reese’s peanut butter direct from the factory.
Beverage and Candy Pairings at a price of $8 – A first for Hershey, Chocolate World offers beer and wine with the perfect Hershey candy counterpart. Adults can order from local PA beers paired with a classic Hershey’s milk chocolate bar, or wines paired with Hershey’s Kisses milk chocolate filled with caramel.
Custom Creation Kits (Price: $14.95): Guests who think they can improve upon Hershey’s Chocolate Bars and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups can embellish and remake them their way.
Hershey’s Ice Cream Shoppe Bars ($1.85): New Hershey’s melt-free Ice Cream Shoppe Bars come in Strawberries ‘N’ Crème, Cookies ‘N’ Mint, and Sprinkles ‘N’ Crème and can be made into a sundae.
At the Hershey Lodge, kids stay, play & eat for free as well as have access to Hershey’s Water Works indoor park, so this could be a sweet spring & summer road trip destination from any major East Coast city.
An exclusive and complimentary amenity for overnight guests is the 30,000-square-foot Hershey’s Water Works, featuring the Twizzlers Twists water slides and Reese’s Water Walk. There is also a zero entry pool, sand castle spray zone, lighthouse tipping bucket, basketball hoops and more.
Hershey’s Lodge has six eateries, including the Hershey Grill, Revelry, The Bears’ Den, Fire & Grain, Cocoa Beanery and Cocoa Cabana.
While staying in the area, guests can also visit Hershey’s largest candy store, the free Hershey’s Chocolate Tour, chocolate tasting, a Create Your Own Candy Bar factory experience and more. There are also Hershey store locations in New York’s Times Square and downtown Las Vegas. For more information, visit www.chocolateworld.com and www.hersheylodge.com.
My personal favorite part of the Hershey area attractions is the Hershey Spa. It is absolutely the best spa I have ever been to. From chocolate baths, scrubs, massages, & wraps, it is the BEST way to relax in Central PA. Guests of Hershey Lodge are welcome to enjoy exclusive Hershey’s Dark Chocolate Treatments at MeltSpa by Hershey, located in downtown Hershey. Guest change into a plush chocolate brown robes to be dipped in chocolate for the health benefits the bean offers. The spa menu features 70 treatments including massages, facials, body treatments, manicures, pedicures, and salon services.
Last but not least, let’s not forget the fun Hersheypark has to offer. They have fit an amazing number of attractions into a relatively small area, and they have great attractions, including many rides for kids and adults alike!
