I thought it might be fun to see what sorts of unusual items CAN be taken on an airplane. Check out a few I found!
#1 Plants
Though it may be tricky, you actually can bring plants onboard but do count as personal baggage allowance. Keep it all contained with a bag of some sort, but leave a bit of air in. Though international flights can be a bit more tricky, as per the USDA site, you might be able to do that too. I don’t take plants on planes but that’s me.
#2 Bowling Balls
Though bowling pins are not permitted, you can take bowling balls, both as a carry on or in checked luggage.

While surprising, not surprising – right?
#5 Camp Stoves – Empty
#6 Sewing Machine
#7 Microwave
#8 Tattoo Guns
This one surprises me for carry on.
#9 Antlers
Hunters, you’ve got the pass to show off your trophies.
#10 Artificial Skeleton Bones
I guess this comes in handy… for someone?
#11 Live Lobster
This was honestly the most surprising one for me! Since you can’t take liquids through security, I wonder how that goes?
